Now this is something I didn't expect to see for quite a while - the BBC Domesday project has been resurrected online and made freely accessible to the general public.

Working with the National Archives, Longlife Data Ltd have created a web version (compatible with IE, Firefox and Netscape - it's not happy with current RISC OS browsers) providing most of the maps, text and photographs from the community discs. They haven't preserved the original BBC interface, instead implementing a groovy four panel window allowing various bits of content to be displayed simultaneously. The second disc (The National Disc) which contained photo galleries and virtual reality walkthroughs is still unavailable.
