Aemulor Pro-gress

Aemulor Pro is continuing its transition from vapourware to product: wizard programmer Adrian Lees had been threatening on the Iyonix support group to release details, and now he has.

The 26 bit filing system support is coded and almost fully working; sound support is on its way too. Adrian is reworking the code, first demonstrated at last year's Wakefield show, that emulates low colour modes to achieve better performance - using knowledge gained through the Cino project. Games players might be in luck, since basic emulation of the old IOC/MEMC chips "won't be much extra work" and should make it into the first release. The JIT compiler that translates 26 bit code into 32 bit code is also receiving some XScale optimisations, giving a boost to both C and Assembler programs.

Adrian comments "I know most of you probably want only one question answered - 'When?' Right? Well, I think I'll be looking for beta testers in the latter half of this month."
