Unregistered user SO I'M VERY ANGRY!!!!!!!!!

RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHY CAN'T THE GCC TEAM GET OFF THEIR A**ES AND FIX THE BUG IN DRLINK THAT'S STOPPING ME FROM MAKING LCC ABLE TO COMPILE MODULES???????

WHY CAN'T SOMEONE HAVE A NICE EASY WAY OF DOWNLOADING THE DRLINK SOURCE SO I CAN FIX IT MYSELF???????

WHY CAN'T SOMEONE ELSE HAVE MADE AND RELEASED A LINKER WHICH DOES LINK MODULES PROPERLY???????

WHY CAN'T ACORN HAVE STUCK AN UPDATE TO THE LINKER INTO THE 1995 C/C++ UPDATE THAT'S ON THEIR FTP SITE SO I CAN DOWNLOAD A WORKING LINKER FROM THERE?????????

WHY ISN'T ANYONE ON IRC SO I CAN SHOUT AT THEM IN PERSON????????????

Unregistered user No sign of you there now though, is there? wink

Let's see... I think I've squashed all the bugs.

I've also written my own module header generator, since CMunge seems to tricky to write custom stubs for (which is what I assume Acorn C/C++ uses, since there are functions CMunge uses that aren't listed in the PRMs). Still needs some more work before it'll be a full replacement though, including a manual...

Unregistered user Ah, begger it. I'm off to join a MUD.

...

Actually, no. I can't be a**ed. Too much trouble finding one. Too much trouble fiddling with telnet. Too much trouble inventing a character and learning all the commands and stuff. Too much commitment once I've joined. Bleh unhappy

Unregistered user Ah, but you're not there now, are you? tongue

Anyway, I'm in a happier mood now grin

Because I've worked out a way round the bug grin

And I think I've got LCC producing the correct code needed to compile modules grin

However there are a couple of bugs somewhere making it crash and generally muck up unhappy

I think one of them is due to the home-made stubs I'm using, and the other is a bug somewhere in my ARM coded module header (Since it also appears in the ARM code version of the test app).

So, I need to....

  • Fix whatever bug there is in the stubs
  • Track down and fix the bug in the module header
  • Fiddle the module header and stubs so people can use cmunge/CMHG to create their own headers which would then just link with the custom stubs
  • Fiddle LCC a bit so it can automatically tell drlink to produce a module
  • Test, test, test (Well, maybe not wink)
  • Hand the code over to Peter Naulls to get it in the official release
  • Gloat cool

/me is happy grin

Unregistered user Since the threads still here, I might as well tell you what I've been up to grin

  • Re-vamped the module header pa**er, although it's still a bit dodgy
  • Added a -module option to LCC to set all the correct flags and stuff

That's it. Exciting, wasn't it? grin
