Email me and I'll see what I can do but the site is not going to be back up as it was. It's now going to be used for a completely different project since RO land has treated my very badly. |

So can people still talk to you about new games projects or ideas to get your welcomed advice etc? |

So can people still talk to you about new games projects or ideas to get your welcomed advice etc? Unfortunately no. I have no time or enthusiasm for this market while the same management resides over it and hence I can't give any positive information to anyone and hence why my time in RO land is now minimal. |

You'll make sure that other people can pick up all the unfinished projects and things though, won't you? |

It's probably not worthwhile. Remember Nathan used to run the Code Vault and I believe the uptake from there was less than staggering. It's also worth remembering that Nathan doesn't necessarily hold the rights to VOTI projects so by himself he can't make sure unfinished projects get released. |

Lee is correct and in any case I do not want to release any code to the RO market in case something useful can be used by ROL management. They know how I feel and if they had their eyes open they would see how much sh*t they are in. Even if I did release anything, chances are nothing will be done with it because lets be honest, there are hardly any decent coders left in our market because of Paul Middleton. |

Erk, that was a bit nasty. If only it was possible to actually disagree with you on this one :-/ |

No coders, no graphics artists, no interest, no support. It's very negative and any games releases look to be more likely from lone programmers. I wonder if we can even /aspire/ to any standard of the quality PC games anymore. Even if Nathan had rights to every project he's been involved in I reckon I wouldn't ask him to release them publically as the chances are it would come to nothing! |

No coders, no graphics artists, no interest, no support. It's very negative and any games releases look to be more likely from lone programmers. And few lone programmers are left. It seems that the majority of the RO market is now full of lazy programmers and lazy graphics artists but seem to spend much of their time bitching on csa.misc and just because they talk about much needed projects people think they are RO Programming Gods. I wonder if we can even /aspire/ to any standard of the quality PC games anymore. I came dangerously close and even told a lot of RO shareholders but they didn't really care, like much of ROL really. ROL really would be a victim of their own success but they haven't had any success. ROL supporters also have a complete misunderstanding of real life and real world and are more content putting down people who know the truth. Even if Nathan had rights to every project he's been involved in I reckon I wouldn't ask him to release them publically as the chances are it would come to nothing! That is true. I knew all the programmers who could finish projects and unfortunately they have all left the scene due to one circumstance or another. I could no longer pass on enthusiasm for the market because I was enthusiastic about it. Too many people said, "Wait, soon there will be a special deal....blah....blah", akin to crying "Wolf" too many times. |

So what happens to EMD, Overcast2 and Sumisu San? EMD is dead, Overcast2 is continuing as far as I know albeit slowly and Sumisu San is coming to the crux time, we are deciding whether to continue it or ditch it. |

I'm afraid Overcast is going to be severely re-worked since as I have said, I have hit a brick wall with it really. I am grateful for your support Jonathon but there's not much I can do about it. |

Thats a damn shame, On all three counts. Did EMD ever reach a playable state? What are you going to do with what you have of EMD? To just dump it seems a shame really. Andrew, I'm sorry to hear about Overcast do you think you will ever release it? |

Well, thanks again Jonanthan. I think it's more likely I would release a much changed game as a freeware title. I'm trying to pick the brains of one or two people for ideas as much as for inspiration but it won't be the same premise in terms of gameplay as Overcast was going to be it seems - it can't be. If you see my other topic you should get an idea of the kind of lines I'm thinking roughly about. As for the other VOTI stuff, I think nobody feels more dumped than the others :-( |

Thats a damn shame, On all three counts. Did EMD ever reach a playable state? What are you going to do with what you have of EMD? To just dump it seems a shame really. As mentioned in other places, no VOTI source code that hasn't yet been released will be released. The core element of EMD was done but our main graphics artist then lost his job so had to spend his time doing other things, this meant that we had one set of level graphics done, none of the tiles could be fit together without that graphics artist. Sorry but ROL have really killed any feeling I had for RO and consequently why I now use my PC and brought down the ROJO, Coding Vault and VOTI sites. I did email as many shareholders as possible before I was sure but the ones who replied said the negatives I already knew and none replied about my offer of a free programmer to do core RO updates such as multi-threading. I want no part of a market that is led by dodgy deals, bad business practise and a load of bitching. My idea of a disintegrating market is to make a cooperative but alas with the current major shareholders you aren't likely to change that. Oh, yes, Pace own 20% but I don't really think they care about our end of the RO market anymore. END OF MESSAGE |
