That was scary - couldn't get anything at first. Then I realised that a) my local IP address had changed, so I was locked out of SSH and b) DNS wasn't working so I couldn't see that I couldn't get to things. Managed to get in, delete the humungous file once I'd found it, and then started restarting the services - but it was such a mess I ended up restarting the box to make sure I got everything. Then the threads database was damaged and needed repair, so the site seemed to be working until I decided to check some forum stuff instead of going to sleep.

Seeing as I have to be up for work at 5:30am, I think I'll do that now. Instead of fixing my laptop, which is also playing silly buggers, which is why I didn't see the server problems sooner.

I think a thread I tried posting to has vanished :o

Wasn't anything important, though.

It's probably backed up, but unless it's important it's probably best to stick with what we've got.

If the repair hadn't worked at all, it'd have been a different matter however.

Do you want to have a look at AcornArcade as well? The forums look a little unwell to me...

Can probably only fix that one with a backup. (Or, rather, restoring from a backup)

A couple of user files are 0 length; but if you've had problems before 6am this morning, it's not related.

DJ Andrew? Is he mixing up a flava in the area?

I vote we blame Andrew. :)

I take it the backups worked last night then, or will we have to wait until tonight's to find out?
