Usually, when I go return to the forum's index page, (by clicking a link, rather than by using "back" in the browser) the little envelope next to the thread I've just been viewing opens, to signify readness of the thread. This is good.

However, sometimes, this does not occur, despite working correctly for other threads viewed in the same session. This makes me sad.

1). Does everyone else get this problem, too?

2). Why does it happen?

3). Is there any way of duplicating the functionality of other forums, where the thread-read-indicator is displayed even if you use the browser's back button to return to the forum index page?
