Since my regular testing monkey seems to have gone AWOL, I figured I might as well post this here. QTM 32 test release There are definitely issues with this release, but the only one I know of is that the transparent sound system is broken. You may want to download some of the gubbins from the QTM website to help in your testing, e.g. the ResetSound Obey file found in the source code. Also if you plan on testing using !Amp, you may have to poke the plugins a bit so that it uses QTM instead of TimPlayer. QTeM isn't 32bit compatible yet, so there's no point trying to test QTM 32 on an Iyonix using that. Not to mention the fact that by design QTeM uses the transparent sound system Of course, it's not just Iyonixies that this needs to be tested on, it really needs to be tested on everything down to an ARM 2. |

Yay For this, I won't mention what I usually mention. Except for the above mention, of course. |

IT'S WORKING! (unintended caps, but hey, I might as well keep them) (Except it isn't really working yet. But it did load and "play" a file without crashing the machine. The music didn't sound particularly musicy, however) |

Looks like it's processing the song right, so it must just be the buffer fill that's broken. |

And I can't find anything obvious that would have broken it! |

It's asking the OS for the VIDC clock speed, which is (unsurprisingly) returning 0. And for some reason the code which detects inaccurate clock speeds and calculates them manually isn't being triggered. And after manually plugging in the values extracted from my RiscPC, you do get something which is vaguely like the song you requested. So now I just need to find what it's using the values for and how to get the correct values on an Iyonix. |

I AM THE MANS All I did was clear the 'new VIDC' bit of the sound flags, and it calculates the clock speeds manually and works perfectly |

Note that, as far as I can remember, that's the ONLY CHANGE since that release 5 months ago, so you only have yourselves to blame for not testing it when I asked Now, to find out if Steve Harrison still checks his emails... [edit] Uploaded the new version for further testage. Transparent sound system is still likely to be hideously broken on new & old machines. [Edited by Phlamethrower at 12:27, 30/7/2006] |

Ah.. I can't check with Steve because the official website is now dead :rip: Not that his uni email address was likely to be accurate anymore. And there's no obvious sign of his 6 year old hotmail address being used. And I can't find any obvious links between the various Steve Harrison's on the internet with the Right One |

Alex Macfarlane Smith might know, as he did some work on 32 bitting QTM in 2004. |

It got put on hold, and then forgotten about. But we're back in contact now, so expect a release sometime in the next couple of months. |

Must give this a go, I have over 20 1.8mb floppies with MOD's on that just don't play correctly on anything I've tried on the RISC PC this year. Is it MOD's only, or does it play S3M's as well? |
