Apologies for the outage over the weekend.

For some reason one of the website hosted on the box went bit ape, with just one apache process taking up to 55% of the machine's available memory. This meant when four or five people hit the site there's a huge whack on the virtual memory that slowed the machine down, and eventually enough people visited it to stiff the entire server.

The machine was still up and apparently receiving mail, but needed to be restarted to sort out the mess it had gotten in to.

Obviously we're already looking into moving some websites off onto another machine, and the long-mooted plan to replace the current server with something with a bit more kick needs to be brought forward.
