Unregistered user | After spending about 2 and a half solid days redesigning my website with a new layout, new graphics and many new pages all hand coded, I decided to do a quick count of all the files and managed to delete the whole lot of them by mistake. (Why doesn't RO4 have a recycle bin???) This was about 10 mins ago, as it's taken me this long to recover from the shock. Please, someone tell me a way to recover the files, as I don't think I can get the enthusiasm to design and code everything all over again. Please? |

Unregistered user | You will need to find yourself a copy of 4D's The Time Machine. No, hang on, that's a game! Dunno my friend, I seem to remember Oregan had a disc recovery system some tim ago but I may be speaking crap. |

Unregistered user | There is fsck. Powerful but dangerous. Looksystems sell a file recovery program. Remember unless you have since saved something else to the disc the files are probably still there. There is an Undelete program available (Quantum Software(?)) but of course you need to install it _before_ you delete something. Hope this is of some help. |

Unregistered user | Sorry about the pleading tone of the first post. I think I was in shock. Having tried a couple of peoples suggestions, I've decided that there is only slightly more work in starting from scratch than there would be to try and recover all the files. I have also installed the 'VOTI bin' to stop this happening in again!!! |

Unregistered user | Thinking about it in many ways you'd find it quicker to start again Or use the time writing an amazing recycle bin for everyone to enjoy. Mind you I always do hift delete in windows, thereby bypassing the bin and have ended up like you before too |

If you haven't already, for goodness sake turn on the "confirm" option. I know this won't help now, but it should help prevent further mishaps. I Don't let it get you down |

Unregistered user | For some reason, when I told Bin to empty all the deleted files, it got itself stuck in a loop, - everytime it tried to delete a file, it made another copy of it... In the end I had to do a reset - luckily there weren't any corrupt files, just several dozen copies of the bin's contents. Shouldn't the bin ignore deletions from within it's own space? |
