Unregistered user | I'm sure this question has been asked many times before, but I've had an email from a guy who would like to know how to transfer drawfiles from a RISC OS machine to a PC. Can someone recommend either a RISC OS program that can convert the drawfiles in a PC format or a PC program that can read them? |

Unregistered user | http://www.argonet.co.uk/users/parr/acorn/useful/con.html has Draw2WMF which works to an extent. I've tried importing a few things into Word using this but it stretches and distorts them in an odd way. I think Sherston sell a similar utility. Warm Silence have a beta version of a Draw2SVG program with their SVG plug-in thing. You could also try using the Generic Postscript printer driver and printing to a file. That seems to work quite well... Or... how about using Draw on the Archie emulator! blah blah... blah blah... |

Unregistered user | (Corel)Xara does just this, - and it works very well too. It does not translate embedded text areas or sprites though. If it's just a one-off task, then there's a downloadable (timed) demo on the web (at http://www.xara.com/corelxara/download.html). The non-time restricted version costs (IIRC) around 80ukp, and is one of those 'buy-it-then-download-it' jobs. 6 |

Unregistered user | Intergif will change it to a GIF, ok if you don't need vector graphics. |

Unregistered user | I think people are drifting away from the original question asked in this thread: "Can someone recommend either a RISC OS program that can convert the drawfiles in a PC format or a PC program that can read them?" As I need to transfer a few drawfiles to a PC vector format, Freehand preferred, I've been hoping to find either a conversion program or a Windows program that can read it. None of the programs mentioned here seem to fit the bill except maybe CorelXara but the demo doesn't allow for exporting and it's far too expensive to buy just for transferring a few images. So: Can someone recommend a RISC OS or a Windows program that can CONVERT the drawfiles to a PC format? 172 |
