Unregistered user | Quite simply, does anyone think that a simple dial up tool (Like Windoze DialUpNetworking) should be implemented in a future release of RiscOS? Obviously I do. |

Unregistered user | Oh yes, yes I do. Socketeer is good but has it's flaws, a built-in dial-up program would be a very good idea. |

Unregistered user | Yes!! but if RISC OS Ltd make a VDM (Virtual Device Manager) then it will work without problem with all modem types (i want remember that actualy there is some problems with ISDN modems) |

Unregistered user | A further thought, perhaps the internet settings could be loaded and saved in a format compatible with .ins files as used by internet explorer, obviously ingnoring all the ie\outlook customisations. (eg the ones that disable offline email) |

Unregistered user | Well, It's been over a week since I sent the emails to RiscOS Ltd, and they haven't seen fit to reply. It doesn't look like they're going to, which I find rather disappointing to say the least! Hmmm... |

Unregistered user | MAD NURE i told about Risc OS Ltd, i'm not mad with RISC OS Ltd but i know that they don't replay fast to this type of e-mails (i also did ask to they about the future 32 bit etc... and i idn't receive an answer) i think that they read all e-mails and make a statistic of what is the problems or requests not replay direct to all users... so i think that all we must send e-mails to what we want, we can build a standard form so they will read fast and know what we want... is this a good idea? :-) |

Unregistered user | (continued from previous message) I Seem to remember reading/hearing that somebody is already doing a dialer that reads windows .ins files. |

Unregistered user | A Dialer that uses the ins files of Windows is a great idea, but my point is that it needs to be a part of RiscOS, so that there is a standard form of dialer for ISP's to provide support for. At the moment, we have !Connect, !ArmTCP, !Socketeer, plus others that I don't know of. No ISP is going to even think of offering support for Acorn users if they have to support all of these. |

Unregistered user | Indeed!! I'd never thought of this, having got that accustomed to Ant Inet Suite together with MultiISP, but I suppose it would be nice! Then again, one of the Pro's (IMHO) of RiscOS, is that the wheel is not re-invented all the time - ie. most Windoze Word Proc packages tend to include quiet flashy drawing tools (all of them), how much extra code does that add to them?? Why bother?? Why not simple have a single Drawing program. Hey, the revelance of that made sense to me, but it's getting late. Night all! |
