I have two versions of this title, floppy and the Krisalis Gold CD version - neither of which work on any OS / CPU / physical / virtual combination. It looks like an issue with the tracker module, but I'm not 100% certain at this point as I've not had time to debug it. Has anyone actually got this running? Did you have to change any settings or files? If you do have a working copy, could you possibly eMail a copy to the project: jon at jaspp dot org dot uk |

I know the K Gold version works on SA + RO4.02 system, as that's what it was designed for. It is very fussy about screenmodes though. I also had it working on ArcEm via a floppy image, I believe, although this wasn't perfect by any means, but *was* playable. |

If I recall, a big part of the problem is that it runs in some funny non-VGA-safe screen mode, then shoves lots of data into the "off-screen" areas. It may even be assuming that memory is allocated in smaller chunks (as it was on 1Mb systems vs 2+). Plus, it has the usual self-modifying code and other tricks, but that's to be expected. As I recall, it was the toughest one of the Krisalis games to get working on SA, and in the end we had to just go with something that worked on SA/OS4 combination (target audiance) and accept it. |
