Can't say I was blown away - but I'm hoping it will be good. If it improves the way it did between the first two seasons it'll be well worth watching. Russell T Davies is writing most of it (you can tell because even the trailer is over the top) so there'll be some decent characters in it if nothing else. The Next Doctor had similarities to Dark Season. This one has spooky children. Will it be Century Falls revisited? |

I'm inclined to agree - but I'll add that I'm particularly keen on doing one story told over five episodes. I prefer that to single episode stories. Although better still would be a combination - fairly episodic, but with a clearly evolving story arc. Slowly at first, with the odd moment that makes me think "What the fuck?" then gradually building up into something big. Think of the first appearance of a Shadow vessel in Babylon 5: It was seen, and there was no real explanation (other than the context in which it was seen), and was a real "What the fuck?" moment. |

Re-watching it again (and say what you like, but seasons 2-4 and the latter half of 5 are eminently re-watchable) doesn't do it justice since you know it's coming, but I remember watching it when it was first broadcast - you didn't even know they were the enemy at first (apart from some incoherent Minbari mumbling) and it even appeared to be helpful at one point. It certainly was a "What the fuck?" moment |
