Just one thing to check first, most new users are people who have very recently picked up an Acorn machine on eBay and aren't familiar with/have forgotten much of the interface. There will often be a !Help file within the application with controls etc listed, have you tried looking for this? You can either find it from the context menu (menu click, it's not so hard to find) or shift-double click on the application to explore inside it and locate a !Help or !Readme manually. |

hi jason, cheers for the speedy response. i've had an archi as long as i can remember. i've got vague recollections of picking up that particular tip from tony robinson(?) on the a3000 introductory video! cheers for trying to help anyway. there's no manual on the disk, at least on the version i've got. i've managed to come across a german manual after many hours of searching but i lack even basic german translating skills. can anyone help? |

The only thing I can think of is that you try CJE Micro's [sic] and see if they have a spare manual in their back catalogue - certainly they're offering Aldeberan for 7 quid, so it might be just as well buying a copy if you're really desperate. If it came in a particular AU issue (coverdisk or just a review) that might be a source also. I've looked around online and I'm afraid I can't find anything. The other option is that you make the German text available to us (give a URL, or upload it if you only have a local copy) and those of us with some German skills can hazard a guess at the main bits. You could also try automatic translation via Altavista's Babelfish, or Google Translation. |
