What's more nerdy than text? Matrix text! Here, I used the text of the RO3 User Guide as the background Nice one! I think it might look good if you tried fading the nut in instead. Could be difficult though with a green on black contrast.

As for the Matrix one, not quite sure what you mean. I originally was going to make the acorn appear formed out of ASCII text in the Matrix style, but as I got the text in place and outlined my acorn mask, I decided to invert it and have the acorn making its mark on the 'code'. Would you prefer it the other way round (an acorn formed of text)? That's easy enough to do, and in fact is what I originally had. |

There's also an Elite shirt. I never liked that one, because of the NTK lettering inserted into it (although I've been aware of it for years, ah NTK). I'm not sure that there's actually enough variation in the acorn shape to allow for that - it's pretty binary, either coloured or not. I suppose you could find the later 3D acorn with the light effects on it, and fade that in... |

If people want larger prints == takes up more space on t-shirt, for example for doing back prints, then somebody's going to have to render me a nice large acorn. I am a designer but not a creator, so I can use pre-rendered elements but I wouldn't have a clue how to draw an acorn from scratch 
Could have done it in !Draw, mind you, but these modern Windows and Linux packages are totally nonintuitive for me. |

I was just playing in SpreadShirt's designer, and actually, the PCB-nut small as a front breast logo and the System 1 circuit large on the back actually makes for a pretty neat overall design. Perhaps I'll clean up some of the dirt from the image (or find a better photo to start from).
Please note that these designs aren't necessarily final, any of them, at least not as I've been posting them so far. I'm looking for ideas and feedback and posting my drafts and tests to this thread, and if anybody sees a version they would actually want to use, just say and I'll put up a 'final' (i.e., high-quality and useable in printing a t-shirt) version of it.
EDIT: and I also found a shirt which has a colour quite close to the Archimedes switcher, lots of potential for more 'retro' designs there:

Well, I was ordering a couple of other shirts anyway, so I thought, since you only pay postage once, I'd throw in another. I toyed with the PCB-nut (hmm, is that it's official name now?) but in the end went with a medium-sized version of the Electron logo with fading green grid lines. It should take about a week to arrive, to I'll take some photos once it's here. If, after that, anybody wants the same .png I used to create their own, I'll upload/attach it! |

Well, here's the switcher by itself (with blue background or with transparent background), and here's one with "Archimedes" included (with blue background or with transparent background). Use the blue-backgrounded ones for authenticity on a different-colour t-shirt, and the transparent ones for 'alternate' versions or for an authentic feel on the light blue t-shirt (as shown in a screenshot earlier in this thread). Play with the online designers, swap t-shirt colours with the transparent logos on and see what you prefer!
If you need scaled-up versions (you can move, rotate, invert and downsize on SpreadShirt but you can't make them larger than the native resolution), just ask and I can provide them. I'm only doing this for my own enjoyment and to test my own skill, it's not a commercial enterprise and I get nothing out of it apart from the adoration of the masses feel free to make your own at SpreadShirt (which I'm only recommending based on good past experiences of cost/quality ratio) or any other place you like. I'm just making the designs for you all to use individually, I'm not in charge of ordering or purchasing!

I'll get round to the PCB-nut again (I've been busy) but hey - my t-shirts have arrived! I'll get them from the post office a little later, and then take a photo to let you see. I got the Electron one done (on black), but the Matrix-stlye acorn could be cool too.
EDIT: got it back. The effect is very subtle due to the lines being so thin (1px), should have thought ahead on that really... however, it still looks good. The fading worked well in the printing, with the lines vanishing into the black of the t-shirt. However, I should bump the grid up to 2px thick perhaps, or 3px for those wanting a particularly bold effect. Photos to follow.
EDIT 2: here's a (very) bad photo I took quickly with my phone camera, in a badly-lit room, using a nearby mirror to help me align my camera. I'll take some with a proper camera a little later on.

A close-up of the design (use of the flash has washed out the shirt colour, but it's not really as bland as it looks there):

Note that the colour balance isn't great here, but the lines actually do show up quite nicely. |

What, and not even a single comment (positive or negative)? Sometimes I wonder why I bother. Well, I like it and I might print myself a different one at some point, but due to the lack of feedback, I'm probably not going to prioritise the whole design thing at the moment. |

I just can't seem to photograph it well. Maybe outdoors, in natural light, but it's a bit cold for doing so at the moment. Anyway, that first mobile phone pic (attached to the post above those three) gives the best impression of how it actually looks in real life. I'd still maybe double the width of the lines to make them stand out a bit more, but it's really not bad at all. Certainly not as bad as those three other pictures make it seem... sorry about that. If I'd gone with the PCB-nut, I'm sure it would have been easier to photograph 
EDIT: hmm, comparing it to the logo on my actual Electron, those grid lines are perhaps even 3px thick. And the acorn is a brighter green, while the grid lines are more of a sickly pale vomit green. I'll tweak the images a little more, and try to get a bunch more variants up soon.

I think it's cool too (and, as you state, in fact too cool to wear outdoors ATM unless worn beneath other layers)! So count that as a positive.
(I never had an Electron but a schoolmate of mine did. His nickname was Greeny but for obscure reasons my brother and I referred to his Electron not as "The Greeny Computer" but "The Grolly Computer"... anyway, maybe I should ask if he wants one! |

Well, it's been quite a while for this thread (I've been busy with Real Paying Work; you can now see my name here, here and here, for example) but I'm planning to return to the t-shirts any time now. More requests and ideas are always welcome, and I'll be focusing mostly on the Atrix and PCBnut designs unless I think of anything new and exciting. The Electron one could really have been a pixel thicker on the lines, and I might order an Aargh even though it'll be an in-joke that nobody around me will understand. Good times |

I liked the Electron shirt. I wouldn't really want to wear a giant Acorn (I would have done when I was 16!) but the Electron one is pretty tasteful.

No, they're the recreations by me, but the design copyrights certainly aren't a license compatible with Wikimedia Commons. |
