I think this is correct - or, at least, correct for me. I refer to my iPhone... but then, I also say "I'll just check my Gmail". Because they're so similar to the actual words, they just slip into conversation.
Gmail I can almost understand, since it's the same number of syllables as email. Only 'almost' though.

Either that, or I'm brainwashed by two competing companies tongue
In respect of their individual products, yes.

It's not a joke. I've actually heard people say "Now, open up Yahoo! Search and Google for this..." unhappy
