That was a good one this week, wasn't it? It'll be interesting to see if they can keep it up for the finale. |

I hope the final episode is more than a cliffhanger for a potential second series (Survivors, I'm looking at you). More men with ropes and sticks, please BBC. |

To start with I was a bit hmm but it is growing on me. I reckon it should go really dark and start killing off some characters |

Lets hope for the new series they stick to the format of the last 3 or 4 episodes i.e. keep it very dark and keep the humour minimised... [Edited by epistaxsis at 16:13, 7/3/2009] |

The first episode felt a bit wobbly in places, but otherwise a good start to the new series. Just try and avoid watching while you're eating, because they've turned up the gore factor a bit |

last night's one was fine on the gore front.I'd be inclined to say the same of last week's TBH, but YMMV. Edit: In the context that there wasn't much/any. [Edited by VincceH at 13:54, 18/1/2010] |

Have just started watching this after an acquaintance of my wife's appeared in it (she lives in Totterdown). Pretty entertaining but we're viewing them out of order... don't ask why! Has anyone had a look at the books BTW? |

Cor! Can't say I was too pleased with the deus ex machina of having Annie return and kill Dr. Evil (yes, I've already forgotten his name). But I can't say no to the resurrection of Herrick! Oh, and SPOILERS, obviously. |

But I can't say no to the resurrection of Herrick! He looked like the bronze age man from the Harry Hill show. So is he a vampire AND a werewolf? I wondered if Lucy was going to become a ghost. |

Glargle. While waiting the long wait until I can get to see S3, I decided to check out the US version. We get imported US shows over here, why can't they ever take imported British ones, rather than trying their own crappy clones? Anyway, I had a quick look through the two-part US pilot with the intention of giving it a proper watch later. I shall reserve final judgement until then. Reference for those not in the USA: part 1 and part 2. Let's see if it goes further or just dies a horrible death, like the vast majority of US pilot clones of British shows (The IT Crowd? Red Dwarf? And so many others...). |

http://www.aintitcool.com/node/48115 The New York Times says: … bland … You know you’re in trouble right from the start when the premiere episode begins with a “Grey’s Anatomy”-style voice-over narration by the brooding vampire Aidan (Sam Witwer). It’s the first sign of rampant Americanization: the underlining of every theme and emotion, the explanation of every plot point, the thorough predigestion before the gruel is spooned into our mouths. … What was a show about bickering but loving roommates is now a show about, to paraphrase Aidan’s narration, living on the dark side. Unfortunately it’s not a very interesting place.Variety says: … comes to Syfy with its predecessor's basic bone structure intact. The casting, alas, represents something of a downgrade, with the notable exception of "Lost's" Mark Pellegrino as the toothsome villain … the early episodes are likable, if unworthy of love at first bite.In short, pretty much how you'd expect an American version of a British show to be. Although, of course, there's always the possibility of confirmation bias in my selection of quotations, these actually said more than "yeah it's OK" or "nah, crap" -=oOo=- As to the British version of the show, season 3 seemed to start pretty strongly. There was a mesmerising performance in the section with the vampire in purgatory - but enough about his spirit guide's norks, his acting wasn't bad either . Glad about the ultimate outcome of the cage fight, but Robson Green? Not sure how that'll turn out. ________ Cheers, Rich. |

[...]AND IT IS HERE!!![...]And there it was, gone. I don't know what to make of falling outside of the 16-34 target age. I'm glad to see the back of Herrick, but really not too keen on this Wyndham character! [Edited by trevj at 09:21, 18/3/2011] |

My opinion of it hasn't changed since my original posting.[...]AND IT IS HERE!!![...]And there it was, gone. I don't know what to make of falling outside of the 16-34 target age. I'm glad to see the back of Herrick, but really not too keen on this Wyndham character! Incidentally, I notice that they're showing the online spin-off 'Becoming Human' on BBC3 at 9pm this Sunday (20th March). It's 1 hour long, so is a convenient replacement. |
