Time to enlist!

Unknown trooperJan "Artex" Klose has mailed us with an intriguing proposition - become a TEK trooper!

The first 20 people to email tektrooper@acornarcade.com will get a TEK trooper named after them. All the units in the game have to have names, and Jan thinks that an Acorn Arcade special is the way to do it! There is one restriction however - the name is limited to 6 characters max, so you may need to be a little creative.

Unregistered user If I counted right we've had 13 responses so far, so there're still a few troopers left to be named.

Unregistered user Yes, I told Paul about this as soon as the posting went up. I'm hoping we can have a "most interesting way for killing Paul" screenshot compo later on - depends if TEK can display the name on screen or not.. :)

Unregistered user "the name is limited to 6 characters max"

so how can that be less than six, Rich? :-p

Rich Goodwin Message #87278, posted at 18:20, 19/3/2002, in reply to message #87277
Unregistered user Note the inclusion of the "max" part. There is a limitation - that limitation is that the /maximum/ number of characters is six. It can be less than six, but the max is six, and that's the limitation.* I've written it in modern English. I've written it in Perl. I've now written it in old-school English. How can I make that any clearer?

*(with apologies to MoJo JoJo)

Unregistered user Rich - the PERL is bad as well - you don't have 'then' after an if; just the "{" ;-)

Unregistered user I think that it's "it's", because the dinner belongs to it. "Steve's dinner" springs to mind.
